Abstract
The break-up of liquid jets due to capillary instabilities is studied in order to determine the relevant non-dimensional numbers and to how the outlet nozzle affects the break-up process. A linear stability analysis is carried out as well as a literature survey. Techniques for suppressing the formation of satellite drops are discussed.
