| ESGI (European Study Group with Industry) is Europe's leading workshop bringing together academic mathematicians and industrial companies. These week-long workshops have been held annually since 1968 and were previously known as the Oxford Study Groups with Industry, where they attracted leading mathematicians to work on industrial problems. These problems were in areas like heat and mass transfer, fluid flow, granular materials, electromagnetic fields, financial mathematics and option trading and other processes amenable to modelling using continuum mechanics. But in principle there are no limitations on the types of mathematics which can be used in these workshops. ESGI35 takes place at SDU - Odense University in the week 23 - 27 August and is hosted by the Maersk-McKinney Moller Institute for Production Technology and the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science. |
